Who we are: Scripture
We believe that our God created all things in a perfect way and that his Word is the primary truth in our life. He created all of science, physics, means of physical healing, nutritional biochemistry, medical understanding, every complex cell in our bodies, the complexity of our brains, and all of the approximately 100,000 healing chemical compounds in our plant foods.
In all of our ‘advanced understanding’ we struggle mightily to understand some of the nuances of the foods we eat and of our brain chemistry and structure.
So, in this Wellness Warriors Ministry we highlight the following Bible verses as some of the scripture that supports our effort to share with you insights about living long and living healthy. We urge you to familiarize yourself with these biblical verses. We thank Him for his truth and understanding as we seek to minister to those who are interested in preventing disease and taking optimal care of their bodies. We believe that our self-care is one of the most important aspects of Christian stewardship. God gave humans the responsibility to govern the earth as His representatives; as stewards of this amazing planet we are to promote the well-being of all of its inhabitants and resources. We believe that it is important to be spiritually healthy first, as all things will flow from your relationship with Jesus.
John 3:16. ‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.’
3 John 1:2. ‘Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.’
1 Corinthians 6:19 – 20. ’19. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20.For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.’
Genesis 1:29 – 30. 29 ’And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.’ 30. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to everything that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.’
Daniel 1:8-16. ‘ 8. But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. 9Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs. 10And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? then shall ye make me endanger my head to the king. 11Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, 12Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink. 13Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king's meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants. 14So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days. 15And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat. 16Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and the wine that they should drink; and gave them pulse.
Proverbs 23: 20-21. 20. ‘Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh: 21. For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.’
